UNLIMITED was the subject of a heavy late gamblewhich dropped his price from 12-1 into favourite, and the bets were duly landed, although things were not that straightforward.
Returning from a short break following a spell on the all-weather, he was very keen under early restraint before coming outof the pack in pursuit of the runner-up inside the final quarter mile. Kirsty Milczarek had to get pretty serious to get on top but in the end they were well in command.
Violent Velocity was held up early before making a decisive move over 2f out.Despite drifting away from the stands' rail as he went to the front, he soon opened up a clear advantage, but hung back towards the fence as he tired inside the last furlong. He is in good form at present, despite being 6lb above his last winning mark.
Isphahan was having his first outing since October, but ran well on his previous appearance on this track and this creditable effort should have blown the cobwebs away.
Valentino Swing's best recent runs have been on softer ground and he has had very little racing in the past 18 months. This at least showed he retains a measure of ability.
Gilded Youth made the running in the centre of the track, but was swept aside when the runner-up committed for home.
Hazytoo lost his place quickly at halfway and finished tailed off, suggesting thatsomething was amiss.
