The winner, whose pedigree is pure speed, travelled strongly behind the two leaders and quickly settled matters when a gap opened up on the inside in the straight, given just one tap and then pushed out with hands and heels. The handicapper will make him pay for this, but he looks one to keep on the right side of.
Bertbrand came from behind for a respectable fourth, clear of Enodoc, who had helped force it.
Neil Callan reported that Kinout hung left, while Kirsty Milczarek reported that Bertbrand lost his near fore shoe.
