An eventful enough race and a competitive handicap won in game fashion by MODULAR. Taking closer order after a mile or so, he was hard ridden to take the lead after the third-last but a couple of good jumps cemented his position, particularly at the final fence, and he stayed on strongly to just about prevail.

It's a race that runner-up Twofan should have won. He was given a very patient ride by Conor Maxwell, as it turned out over-patiently, as he made good and sustained progress from the third-last but a good jump at the last probably would have seen him get up to win. However, he was slightly awkward at it and the winning post came a stride or so too soon.

Battle Axe ran a similar sort of race to the runner-up but managed to get there soon enough to be within a couple of lengths of the winner at the second-last but could only stay on at one pace from there.

The enigmatic Giolla De could never make any real impression, nor could Slyguff Rory, both of whom finished in front of the early pacesetter Wolf Creek who dropped away after the third-last.

Joint-favourite Sheebadiva showed signs last time out that she may have had enough after a long season, although she ran way below par today and was beaten early on the final circuit.
