The winner, a daughter of Galileo from the family of Sixties Icon, should stay further, and her trainer Jim Bolger said: "The experience she gained from her first run and the step up in trip helped her but she would prefer better ground. We'll be aiming her at middle-distance races and she'll probably run in a stakes race next."
Superius showed nice improvement from his debut sixth in an 18-runner maiden over an extended 1m at Cork last month.
Soon close up, he was ridden along in fourth into the straight and responded to challenge for the lead from one and a half furlongs out. After a protracted battle with the winner, he gavebest only well inside the final furlong.
There was a big gap back to Flag Of Honour and Kilshannig, both of whom kept on in the closing stages without ever being in serious contention.
Of the pair, Kilshannig has the pedigree to improve over 1m 4f, while better ground will suit him and Flag Of Honour.[TOH]
