Flying Paragan led and disputed, headed after 3 out, 4th approaching 2 out, moderate 2nd last, kept on under pressure

The Boss Roche held up, progress into 6th 3 out, 3rd after next, kept on

Litron mid-division, 6th 5 out, 5th approaching 2 out, kept on under pressure

The Penitent Man mid-division, 5th 3 out, close 3rd and ridden next, no extra from last

Hollow Ranger held up, progress 3 out, 8th 2 out, kept on same pace

Tawrific Laois held up towards rear, progress 4 out, close 7th 2 out, soon no extra

Bonne Noel´s never a factor

Natural Storm held up, no impression from 4 out

United In Spirit tracked leaders in 4th, slight mistake 6th, no extra from 4 out

Bogus Dreams held up, slight mistake 1st, some progress on outer when slight mistake and ridden 4 out, weakened next

Changing Course chased leaders, 6th early, weakened 4 out, tailed off

Out The Gap prominent, 4th and pushed along halfway, weakened after 4 out, tailed off

Pirates Punch towards rear, ridden and weakened after 5th, tailed off when pulled up before 4 out

Jupiter Hollow never a factor, trailing when pulled up before 3 out

Moderate fare. DRUMNAVADDY LOUGH followed up his Downpatrick win over a trip that looked short of his optimum. He also was 10lb higher following his win over an extended 2m5f but the former winning pointer raced close to the pace from the outset and edged to the front into the straight under an inspired ride. His overall form would suggest he's versatile in terms of ground conditions so on better ground he could be capable of winning again.

Mick Finan had started favourite for a similar contest over a quarter mile longer at Thurles last time. He raced in the leading group from the outset but was caught for toe when the winner went on although he stayed on under pressure looking like he'll appreciate a step back up in trip.

Flying Paragon came into this with several placed efforts to his credit. He disputed up front for a long way but, turning for home, he struggled to stay on terms with the winner. Just what is the ideal trip for this ten-year-old is debatable but he ran out of steam onthe run-in and was just denied the runner-up spot.

Bogus Dreams had four previous wins to his credit over this trip but the lack of a recent outing probably proved his downfall after a mistake at the fourth last. He should benefit from this effort, his first run since February last year. [BF]
