The winner wasn’t the only horse in the race as there was a deeply promising effort by runner-up Mon Zamin. After completely missing the break, she made gradual progress to chase the leaders two furlongs out. While she was no match for the winner, she kept on well to be a clear-cut second. She looks good enough to win an ordinary maiden and is a filly connections could have plenty of fun with this season.
Crossdresser set the early pace but was ridden turning into the straight before weakening over a furlong out. He now qualifies for a handicap mark.
Mullova needs another run for a handicap mark and handicaps will represent this filly’s best chance of winning a race. Settled a couple of lengths off the lead, she was basically onepacedwhen the race developed. [JO’H]
