Having made her seasonal bow over 7f at Corklast month, Fairyville appreciated this trip a little better andit looks as though an extra furlong would suit her even more. She raced off the pace most of the way and came home better than any of the chasing group inside the final furlong without ever really looking like catching the winner, but she looks progressive.
The quite admirable Faynita runs well fresh and usually runs well at this venue having gained his sole victory here two years ago. He was always prominent in the centre of the track before being run out of it inside the final half-furlong. He’ll continue to pay his way in this type of event.
On his seasonal debut Desert Ben showed that he retains a similar level of ability as he showed last season. He was always in the front rank in the centre of the track before weakening inside the last half-furlong.
Joint-favourite Ask Jenny probably didn’t find conditions to her liking. She could never really get involved and kept on at one pace inside the final half-furlong. [JO’H]
