Held up, the winner made progress approaching the third-last and went second under pressure going to the final flight. In front early on the run-in, he won driven out.
Chellah, another who showed nice improvement from her first run to her second when fourth over this trip at Thurles last month, made good headway from the third-last and hit the front before the next flight. However, she blundered at the last, losing momentum and the lead, and although she stayed on towards the finish, she could not peg back the winner.
Oran Flyer, a bumper winner over two years ago, was making his hurdling debut and he performed well enough to suggest there should be better to come. He closed from mid-division to track the leaders from the fourth-last and went third before the final hurdle, from where he kept on to the line.
Dan Khatan, well beaten on his hurdling debut, showed a bit more here, although unable to make much impression after being in touch until nearing the third-last.
Jim The Falcon ran poorly and was reported to be clinically abnormal and was found to be lame post-race after veterinary examination, while rider Tom Doyle reported his mount Dan Kahtan to have made a respiratory noise in running. [TOH]
