Espy steadied start, held up in last, headway 3f out, not clear run briefly just over 1f out, chased winner inside final furlong, not threaten winner
Pha Mai Blue chased leader untl led 2f out, soon ridden, headed just over 1f out, edged left inside final furlong, soon outpaced
Midnite Blews led until headed 2f out, unbalanced and beaten just over 1f out
Shabnaam in touch until lost place over 2f out, no chance last 2f
Joe Rich in touch on outer until lost place 3f out, behind last 2f
Pha Mai Blue was more exposed than the winner, but had run well at Lingfield against a well-regarded opponent. If there was an excuse it was that he was in front too soon and then met with threats on both sides from the winner and Espy.
