Predictive, who left Paul Nicholls after running poorly in a Chepstow bumper ten weeks ago, turned in a cracking effort on this hurdles debut. He was doing all his best work late on, and it would appear that stamina is going to be his long suit.
Lappeenranta, a moderate fourth here three weeks ago on his first outing in 17 months, stepped up markedly on that effort and, though he could not sustain his challenge from two out, his connections have reason to be very encouraged by this effort.
A French Horse, having his first run since crashing out at the last at Lingfield in January, was given time to find his feet. Turning for home he looked as if he might get into contention, but he did not pick up as hoped for. However, this was a fair effort, and he too should be able to find a race in this grade.
