The Laying Hen behind, ridden and headway 4 out, stayed on to take 2nd at last, closed on winner near finish, always held
Harry Collins not fluent and jumped right, headway and prominent 3rd, led 14th until 3 out, 2nd and beaten when jumped badly right last, weakened run-in
Peveril Pride in touch, bumped 5th, effort 15th, 4th and beaten when mistake 3 out
Melford led until 4th, with leaders until weakened approaching 3 out
Mystical Star held up in midfield to rear, shortlived effort 15th, no danger from 4 out
Roddy The Vet towards rear, hard ridden and no progress 15th, 6th and no chance when mistake 3 out
Artic Reason led 4th until blundered and headed 14th, not fluent and weakened next
Shikoku Lass soon behind, hard ridden 7th, not fluent 8th and 9th, pulled up before 11th
Lancier D´Estruval behind, jumped slowly 2nd, soon tailed off, pulled up after 13th
Dads Lad chased leaders, blundered 2nd, weakened 5th, behind and driven along 7th, tailed off when pulled up after 13th, broke blood vessel
Spanchil Hill ran in snatches, hit 4th, sometimes prominent until weakened 14th, well behind when pulled up before 4 out
The Laying Hen stayed on in her own time for her new trainer.
Melford, having his first run for his new yard, managed to complete but is way off his heyday when he had a mark of 112.
