Highland Games held up in rear, smooth headway 7th, 2nd and ridden when hit 2 out and last, kept on under pressure to lead final 30yds
Prime Contender held up in rear, smooth headway to lead 3 out, looked winner after until ridden and found little run-in, headed final 30yds
Sonnengold prominent, ridden 3rd, mistake 7th, one pace from 3 out, 3rd and no danger to leading pair when hung left run-in
Night Groove held up in rear, moderate headway after 3 out, never reached leaders
Harcourt in touch until outpaced from 3 out
Cusp in touch, ridden 3 out, soon weakened
Bold Trump led, mistakes 6th and 7th, headed and weakened quickly 3 out, behind when pulled up before next
Dauphin Des Carres chased leaders until ridden and weakened after 6th, soon well behind, pulled up before 2 out
Despite not being too good at the last two flights, the winner found reserves up the hill to the line to collect. He had pulled up on his last three tries and this was his debut in this grade so that is about as good as he is these days.
Sonnengold plugged on from the home bend without ever looking likely to trouble the principals, while Night Groove was never competitive.
