Analyis of the race
A very moderate contest, won well in the end by CASTLEMAINEVILLAGE. Martin Bosley's charge has been very lightly raced in recent seasons due to recurring leg problems, but a recent second at Chepstow, when he had Lightening Fire and Sesaro Express behind, had hinted at an imminent return to winning ways and he scored quite readily here. If he keeps sound, then there should be another race or two to be found with him in this grade.
Deoraoicht, having just his second run for Roger Curtis after joining him from Ireland, kept on from off the pace to confirm earlier impressions that he really needs a stiffer test. He has yet to find a race after 23 attempts, but there is hope for him yet.
Mitrash, a creditable third in a non-handicap seller over2m1f here last week and due to go up 11lb in the weights from today, travelled well to three out but his effort petered out tamely in the closing stages. It did seem as if the longer trip found him out.
