Analyis of the race
A fair contest, won very gamely from the front by AMIGAYLE. She had made all to take a novice hurdle at Newton Abbot last month and faced a stiffer test on this handicap debut, but, despite jumping right on a few occasions, she maintained a decent gallop throughout to confirm that she is definitely on the upgrade.
Kahrayn, another horse making his handicap debut, chased the winner throughout but could not find the speed to get in an effective blow. However, this was a decent effort on his first outing in three months and he does not need to improve much to be winning at this level.
Ganymede, although he stayed well on the Flat, could not sustain his challenge in the closing stages on this step up from 2m1f, while Lady Pilot, who got going too late when a beaten favourite on the Flat recently, again was doing her best work after the issue had been decided.
