Analyis of the race
RYDAL PARK was the class act in this field, and won as an odds-on shot should. The progressive young chaser jumped well in the main, took command a long way out and this should have set him up nicely for his season's target, the John Corbet Cup at Stratford later this month. Though he is a son of Saddler's Wells, whose progeny usually likes some cut, he reportedly is ideally suited by fast ground.
Jilted Lover, who had something to find with Forget The Ref and Thatmakestwoofus on form in points this spring, found the necessary improvement on this switch to regulation fences and won the battle for second with pacemaking Ballyowen, who nonetheless turned in his best effort to date under rules.
