Analyis of the race

A moderate event which placed the emphasis on stamina, and a surprise winner in CULLAHILL, who responded to pressure to lead off the home turn and stayed on well. The re-application of a tongue tie helped bring about this improved performance, something the trainer's representative reported to the stewards, while the good ground was also a key factor.

Tisfreetdream has been running consistently well in recent weeks but, for the fifth time in his last six starts, he found one to beat him. He is able but perhaps not the heartiest.

Regal Approach was always prominent and ran his race, but lacked anything in a way of a change of gear. He just about stayed this longer trip and looks a 3m chaser in the making.

Omix D'Or, runner-up tothe promising Quickbeam on his recent return to action, was one of a group of four to pull clear turning out of the back straight, but was the first of them to crack. The conclusion has to be that he failed to stay this extended trip.

Romantic Bridge probably ran close to the form she showed at Newbury on her hurdles debut.

Back over hurdles, Peut Etre Sivola was beaten after amistake three from home.

Some of the apparent form horses failed to give their running. Decent pointer The Accordion Man, runner-up on his hurdles debut two months ago, could offer little once headed, and Strong Coffee was never in the hunt.

Double Shot, who had Cullahill well behind when runner-up at Kempton last time, was already beaten before suffering a fatal injury on the flat after three out.
