Gramm chased leaders, driven over 4f out, lost place 3f out, soon behind
Goodbye, from a stable in excellent form, was drawn wide. She travelled well, moved through on a tight rein and then got involved in a terrific duel with the winner. She showed a tendency to hang to her left, which did not help her or her jockey, but she ran right to the line. She will soon be winning, provided the ground does not firm up too quickly.
Nuit Sombre, who made this a thorough test, was found wanting late on. Overrule, again over a trip which may be short of his best, was far from disgraced. Bold Marc was never able to dominate.
