Analyis of the race
Previous racecourse experience counted heavily in favour of ICESOLATOR whose trainer Richard Hannon reckons was a shade unlucky not to have finished second instead of ninth on his debut at Newmarket.
Pat Dobbs bagged the stands' rail on the odds-on shot and resisted challenges from both rivals Rio Royale and Finnegan McCool to score with plenty in hand. Hannon said: "He'd come on a lot for Newmarket where he should have finished second. I should imagine there'll be plenty more to come from him."
Finnegan McCool hails from a yard whose youngsters are going well. He got level a furlong and a half out but ran green when tired in the final 200 yards.
