Mujood rousted along from start and early reminder, chased leaders, under pressure from halfway, closed over 1f out, ran on final furlong to lead last stride
Savile´s Delight chased leaders, closed on outer from 2f out, led just inside final furlong, urged along, headed last stride
Idle Power chased leaders, hard ridden from 2f out, effort to join leader inside final furlong, no extra near finish
Dingaan steadied start, held up in last and well detached, steady progress on outer from halfway, driven to chase leaders over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong
Kelamon dwelt, not going well and detached in last pair, driven and progress from 2f out, chased leaders 1f out, no extra
Lunces Lad led at strong pace, at least a length clear over 1f out, headed and weakened just inside final furlong
Mason Ette never beyond midfield, struggling soon after halfway, hanging and weakened 2f out
Makabul pressed leaders to halfway, weakened rapidly
Thabaat chased leaders to halfway, weakened rapidly over 2f out
Tony James pressed leader to 2f out, weakened alarmingly
Soon being pushed along to hold his place and given a reminder early on, Mujood looked out of it when Savile's Delight, Idle Power and Dingaan engaged in a tussle with Lunces Lad down the centre of the course. But as can often happen here, the whole complexion changed as Carson conjured a rally up the stands' fence which saw the combination get up in the final stride.
Savile's Delight seems to train himself on the track and was out just two days after running a solid second off the same mark at Folkestone. He refused to give an inch and was posting an eighth consecutive frame finish. He is a credit to his trainer.
Dingaan is perhaps the one to take out of the race. A course-and-distance winner, he could have done with quicker ground and was soon taken off his feet. Getting a second wind at the distance, he stayed on well to show he is on the cusp of a return to winning ways.
Kelamon was unable to make an impression on Savile's Delight from Windsor, while Lunces Lad flattered only to deceive, taking the race by the scruff of the neck but then running out of gas and surrendering a handy advantage. He's a tricky horse to catch right.
