Wind Flow chased leaders, joined leader well over 3f out, every chance after until no extra well inside final furlong

Calming Waters held up well in touch, ridden and not quicken just over 2f out, stayed on again inside final furlong, not reach leaders

Sunset Boulevard tracked leaders, ridden well over 2f out, soon struggling, no chance from well over 1f out

APACHE FORT boosted his good record here with a paper-thin verdict over Alonso De Guzman which fooled many observers. Engaging in a three-way battle with the second and Wind Flow in the last two furlongs, Tom Keddy's gelding held the renewed challenge of the second, on whom Jamie Spencer was a late replacement. This fourth success in the last 15 months for the winner here illustrates his liking for the track.

Alonso De Guzman is more at home around Wolverhampton but his rally looked to have paid off. He hadn't run here since his two-year-old season and should have learned some trackcraft in a somewhat unlucky defeat.
