Analyis of the race

This looked an above-average maiden and there were some dramatic fluctuations in the market. The money that arrived late for MOSS LIKELY proved right on the knuckle, as Mick Channon's grey put the race to bed with the minimum of fuss. The Channon two-year-olds have been slow coming to hand (this was their winner), and Moss Likely had proved a costly failure on her debut at Warwick when going off far too quick for her own good in the testing conditions. It was a different story here as she tracked the early pacesetters on her own in mid-division and quickly took a gap between Dedante and the far rail at the furlong mark to take command and forge clear, despite wandering off a true line.

Rebecca De Winter is a speedy sort who was backed to gaina debut success. She showed smart all-round pace, but Moss Likely had the benefit of a previous run, which proved decisive.

Street Of Hope is from a yard not noted for sharp juveniles. This well-related filly was slowly into her stride but put in some encouraging work in the closing stages.

Just The Lady relished the fast track and was soon blazing the trail, only to be usurped for that role by Dedante. She could only stay on at one pace.
