Stone Of Scone held up well in touch, headway over 3f out, chased leader well over 1f out, ridden to lead 1f out, pushed clear, readily
Liberation Spirit held up in touch, headway to chase leaders over 2f out, switched right over 1f out, ran on to snatch 2nd on line, not pace to trouble winner
Tartan Gigha chased leader 5f out, ridden to lead 2f out, headed 1f out, not pace of winner final furlong, lost 2nd on line
Closertobelieving in touch in midfield, ridden and slightly outpaced 3f out, rallied to chase leaders over 1f out, outpaced final furlong
La Sarrazine steadied start, held up well behind, came wide and headway 3f out, kept on steadily, never near leaders
Wise Lee steadied and dropped in after start, pulled hard, held up towards rear, headway on outer 3f out, ridden and no impression over 1f out
Burnbrake in touch in midfield, ridden and unable to quicken 3f out, no chance with leaders after
Benhego slowly into stride, behind, ridden and kept on past beaten horses last 2f, never dangerous
Yellow Thunder chased leader until 5f out, stayed handy, ridden 4f out, weakened well over 2f out
Golden Bishop took keen hold, held up towards rear, ridden well over 3f out, never troubled leaders
Squire Boldwood slowly into stride, ran green and always towards rear
Cozy Tiger led until ridden and headed 2f out, weakened quickly
Hapi pulled hard, chased leaders until halfway, well behind last 2f, tailed off
Liberation Spirit, from the Jeremy Noseda team that had introduced Fanjura, ran a cracking race on his first visit to the racecourse, and he is another for whom a bright future beckons. He broke well from his wide stall and was soon tucked in behind the leaders. He didn't have the clearest of passages approaching the final two furlongs, although it didn't make any difference to the result. He kept on well in the closing stages and will prove hard to beat next time.
Closertobelieving ran a promising race and moved out of mid-division to have a chance well over a furlong out. He can improve further.
La Sarrazine was another eyecatcher, as she was steadied at the start and dropped out but made steady headway without being asked a serious question. She can leave this effort behind next time and is another who could well give this race a handsome look in due course.
