Sea Salt made all, ridden clear over 1f out, edged left, unchallenged
Zennerman chased leaders, went 2nd over 2f out, no impression
Efidium slowly into stride, headway over 2f out, kept on to take 3rd inside final furlong
Kadia chased leaders, edged left over 1f out, one pace
Five Wishes tracked leaders, ridden over 2f out, one pace
Rainbow Zest in rear, kept on final 3f, never near leaders
Dressed To Dance soon chasing leaders, ridden 3f out, weakened over 1f out
Frimley´s Matterry chased leaders, lost place 2f out
Rowan Lodge mid-division, effort 3f out, soon ridden lost place over 1f out
Obe One mid-division, driven 3f out, soon beaten
Pietersen started very slowly, always behind
SEA SALT had seemed to lose his way in 2007 but the betting suggested he had been revitalised in the close season and that proved the case on the track as he made all, came clear 1f out and scored most emphatically. This was not a strong race but he has got himself well treated now and would have to be of interest in modest handicap company after this.
Zennerman is another who had been below his best of late and he also showed a little more this time, going second over 2f out, albeit never threatening the winner.
Five Wishes ran just respectably, ahead of Rainbow Zest who was a springer in the market but who had done little over hurdles earlier in the year and who showed nothing like the form he had done for Peter Chapple-Hyam in his younger days.
