Just two runners with experience in this maiden auction and with few of the newcomers making obvious appeal this was an ideal opportunity for KNAVESMIRE, the only one of the pair to have shown the ability to win in modest company. She was soon in front and made all, idling slightly but always looking likely to hold on. She probably did not need to improve to land this race and she will be hard to place outside claiming or plating company.
Rosabee showed the benefit of her debut experience with an improved effort, soon prominent but tending to hang from halfway.
The remainder were well held, with Skruton keeping on for a remote fourth ahead of Gower Valentine, who was prominent for a long way but did not get home on the ground. Real Diamond lost her chance with a slow start.
