Topazes held up, steady headway to lead 2f out, went left over 1f out, all out
My Flame always prominent, led halfway, headed 2f out, short of room and switched right over 1f out, kept on well inside final furlong
Polychrome held up, headway on outside when bumped over 2f, stayed on to go 3rd inside final furlong, never near to challenge
Our Kally in touch until weakened well over 1f out
Miss Bouggy Wouggy chased leaders until weakened 2f out
Blur chased leaders until weakened over 2f out
Rubytwosox prominent until weakened and went right over 2f out
Snow Bounty switched left start, always behind
Abfabfong always behind
Wave Hill took keen hold, led until headed over 3f out, weakened quickly
Libertytyne in touch, ridden 3f out, soon weakened
TOPAZES had the best form on offer and followed up his Fibresand win under his penalty. The handicapper already has him 3lb higher, but his trainer feels he is only just getting the hang of things and can continue to progress. He edged into the whip in the final furlong as he hung into the middle of the track as he duelled with the runner up.
My Flame, who had been crossed by the winner when headed before rallying, could be seen as an unlucky loser. He was denied the stands' rail strip in having to switch, but although he had plenty of time to get back past the winner, he was being held in the last 50yds. Still, this represented a new level of form for My Flame and he has a mark to exploit having finished well clear of the rest.
