Analyis of the race
Just the three runners but an even gallop thanks to trail-blazer Road To Love, which set the race up perfectly for the two stalkers Troubadour and RE BAROLO to pounce.
Re Barolo picked up the best and in the end won pretty emphatically, coming away to score by over two lengths and create quite a nice impression.
He got stuck in the mud on turf last time but had been quite progressive on this surface prior to that and proved that he was still on an upward curve, travelling and quickening in thestyle of a horse capable of holding his own in pattern company. It remains to be seen if he can reproduce this level of form on turf, but his trainer thinks quick ground will help.
Road To Love was left behind by the front two at the business end but this was his first start for 313 days and he can only improve for the outing.
