Analyis of the race

A moderate affair that did not take a lot of winning. ART EXHIBITION''S recent seconds over 1m1f here and 1m2f at Great Leighs made him the obvious form choice. The one worry was the trip but, despite taking a keen hold, the winner got the longer distance without a problem, pulling away from Okafranca in the straight, and there seems sure to be further improvement to come from the unexposed colt.

Paul The Carpet, who had made most in first-time blinkers over course and distance in February, has since run too freely in the headgear and he ran without it this time. He was never really in the argument, but plugged on well enough in the straight to suggest he can win again from his present mark.
