Analyis of the race

A modest affair, but a few with chances and, well ridden by Mark Coumbe, WELCOME RELEAF came with a well-timed run from the rear to win quite nicely. He will come back for a similar grade race over the same trip on Friday and could stage a repeat.

Scuba could not quite hold the winner's challenge, but he stuck on and it was a decent first run since September.

Al Rayanah, who lost ground at the start, kept on in the closing stages without looking likely to get there, whileCopper King was finding things a bit quick on the turn, but then he did stay on and it was a better effort than of late.

Jabraan did not appear to be suited by the step back up in trip.
