Deep River Bay was making a belated racecourse debut, and though not able to get in a blow at the winner he kept on in the closing stages and showed some promise.
Flying Squad showed ability in bumpers, and though this appeared to be a bit quick for him he kept on, and a longer trip should also suit him.
Last in the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes on the second of his two runs last season, there was apparently some confidence behind the chance of Dubai Meydan here, but he and the first-time visored Valdemar Victory appeared to go off too quickly for their own good, and Dubai Meydan was done with inside the final quarter-mile. However, he is not one to write off.
Edgbaston was soon struggling and was never able to get into it.
Neil Callan reported that Music In Exile moved poorly, while Greg Fairley reported that Edgbastonp was never travelling.
