Pennyspider made all, ridden 1f out, driven out
Flying Indian always chasing winner, ridden just over 1f out, every chance inside final furlong, kept on
Saranome soon outpaced, headway over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Solemn prominent, outpaced over 2f out, rallied under pressure over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Kalligal prominent, ridden over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Sandy Par held up, headway over 2f out, ridden and weakened well over 1f out
Capefly outpaced
Penrice Castle held up, headway over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out, eased when no chance inside final furlong
Although 5lb wrong, if William Buick''s claim was taken into account, the winner, who had been in front a furlong out in a maiden here last week, set the pace up the centre of the course and was in no mood to go back to the others.
Her trainer Malcolm Saunders said: "She needed to improve to win, but I thought she had it in her as long as she handled the conditions."
Saranome attracted support and finished well on the far side, to comprehensively turn round last season''s form with the disappointing Capefly.
The latter is by Cape Cross, a pedigree which lends itself to the cut, but after being slowly away was always struggling.
