Orpenindeed took keen hold, chased clear leader, closed 2f out, every chance from over 1f out, unable to quicken well inside final furlong
Fyodor took keen hold, held up well in rear, headway 2f out, challenge just inside final furlong, soon ridden and found little
Blue Tomato soon bustled along in rear, ridden and headway over 2f out, no headway from over 1f out
Ajigolo steadied start, raced in midfield, ridden over 2f out, no danger last 2f
Ingleby Arch chased leaders, driven over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out
Classic Encounter raced freely, led and soon clear, weakened and headed over 1f out, soon behind
ROYAL ROCK deserves plenty of credit, coming back from a 254-day absence and on ground that was drying out against him. He has now won half of his eight career starts and defied a 10lb higher mark here after not being right on his last start in August when he got stirred up and was uneasy on the firming-up ground. He quickened up well to join issue and was pushed out to win without having a hard race. He won his maiden over 7f and while getting to the twilight rating he has more options than many and still looks a progressive sprinter.
Fyodor again threatened to win but was run out of it in the final 100yds after joining in strongly after being held up.
