Debonnaire chased leader until led 2f out, soon ridden, headed 1f out, battled back gamely to lead again well inside final furlong

Magnitude took keen hold, held up well in touch, headway 2f out, led 1f out, edged left under pressure, headed well inside final furlong, no extra

Dubai Power took keen hold, held up well in touch, ridden over 1f out, switched right 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong

King´s Icon held up well in touch, ridden and effort over 1f out, outpaced final furlong

Desert Clover pulled hard, led until 2f out, soon ridden, outpaced final furlong

The withdrawal of High Standing at the start after losing a shoe weakened this further and the principals looked uneasy on the firming ground.

DEBONNAIRE is a big heavy-topped filly but was admirably game in bowling along at a sound enough pace and battling back after Magnitude had put his head in front. She has physical scope and as long as the ground leaves no ill-effect, she can progress again from her modest mark.

Magnitude won his maiden on soft ground and, like the winner, he edged left when let down as if the ground was faster than he wanted but he edged ahead before just being run out of it. Back on good or softer ground, he can progress again.

King's Icon made a menacing move inside the last 2f but flattened out again over this trip and a return to 6f may help.
