EMPEROR COURT, who has been running so well on the all-weather, had questions to answer upped in trip on return to turf, but he had all the answers despite not getting the cover his trainer said he needs in the early stages.
Always prominent from his low draw, he battled on really well to repel the challenge of Shake On It and Rudry Dragon, with the first three coming clear. His trainer feels that he has been a slow learner, as is the case with many by his sire, but the penny certainly looks to have dropped now and he is firmly on the upgrade. He may be dropped back to 1m now.
Rudry Dragon also travelled well, moving into contention two out before throwing down his challenge. He appreciated the return to this trip and has an excellent record at this venue.
Multicultural is capable off this sort of mark and he shaped quite encouragingly on his seasonal return, having ended last term on a fairly low note.
