With the best will in the world, jockeyship played its part in the destination of the first prize, as Pawan''s rider Ann Stokell is light years behind Hanagan in terms of ability. Nevertheless, she did get a good tune out of her eight-year-old, who came agonisingly close to a first win since August 2006.
Diminuto ran badly here for the first time in her life, weakening right out of contention after racing prominently.
