Maghya tracked leaders, effort over 1f out, strong run to lead near finish
Dark Camellia chased leaders, went 2nd over 2f out, driven to lead 50yds out, kept on, headed near finish
Reine De Violette soon led, 2 lengths ahead 2f out, ridden over 1f out, headed and not quicken final 50yds
Caro George held up in midfield, headway on rail entering straight, ridden and one pace approaching final furlong
Acrostic dwelt, held up in rear, slightly hampered and switched inside well over 1f out, shaken up and going on well at finish
Clearing House held up in midfield, effort when slightly hampered and switched wide well over 1f out, stayed on
Rettorical Lad chased leaders, ridden along 3f out, outpaced approaching final furlong
Scary Movie dwelt, always about same place, ridden and no headway final 2f
Milne Bay broke well, prominent, outpaced over 2f out, disputing 6th and losing place when hampered and stumbled well over 1f out
Upstart dwelt, always behind, ridden and no chance final 3f
Too Much To Do dwelt, soon in touch, ridden over 3f out, soon weakened
Tewin Green dwelt, soon niggled along, always behind, no chance final 3f
Dark Camellia was among the outsiders on her return to action but she did not race like one. She was noted travelling comfortably in about fourth spot before turning in, when she picked up to go past long-time leader Reine DeViolette, only to in turn be collared no sooner had she hit the front. She''s eligible for handicaps now and shouldn''t be too long in getting off the mark.
Reine De Violette tried to make fitness count from the front, but after travelling well turning in and kicking off the bend, she had no answer to the first two. However, she was clear of the fourth and can lose her maiden status soon.
Clearing House boxed on and can make his mark in handicap company now.
Upstart, a stablemate of the third, is likely to improve for the experience, and he''s going to need to.
