In the main, Drunken Disorderly jumped very well and stayed well. The only real scare was when he jumped way out to his right at the fourth-last. He was travelling worst of the three leaders turning in, but all he does is really stay and he did that well to chase home the winner.
The available evidence would suggest that Oscar Honey didn’t stay. Held up early, he was stoked up to make headway towards the lead after the third-last and was in front when making a slight mistake atthe second-last. He found little enough from there and ran as though he didn’t get home.
Freds Benefit ended up well beaten after being prominent most of the way. He was only a length off the lead at the third-last, but weakened from the top of the straight, finishing just in front of the front-running mare Sheebadiva, who was beaten after the fourth-last and may just have been feeling the effects of a long season.
The hat-trick-seeking Wheresben was beatenwell over half a mile out, while Aka Jake was pulled up lame a circuit out. [JOH]
