Foxcent tracked leaders, 3rd over 2f out, no impression under pressure and kept on same pace from over 1f out
Orpen Winger chased leaders, 4th over 2f out, no impression under pressure and kept on same pace from over 1f out
Tobar Na Hinfe in rear of mid-division, kept on without threatening under pressure from over 1f out
Ucantoo always prominent, pushed out in 4th and no impression from over 1f out, kept on same pace
Voldmort mid-division, 10th before halfway, some headway and no impression under pressure from over 1f out, kept on same pace
Solid Air towards rear, no impression from 2f out
Quench The Flame towards rear, no impression from 2f out
Lethal Weapon mid-division best, no impression from 2f out
The Good Shepherd mid-division, 8th before halfway, weakened from under 2f out
An Mhi chased leaders early, no extra under pressure from 2f out
King Royal tracked leaders, 5th approaching straight, weakened from under 2f out
Dane River slowly into stride, soon in mid-division, 6th approaching straight where wide, broke leg 2f out, dead
Fast Hanna now qualifies for a handicap mark, running probably his best race in the process, and certainly seems to show a liking for a bit of cut in the ground. Tracking the winner most of the way, he couldn’t quicken with him a furlong out but kept on well enough and shouldn’t object to an extra furlong.
Newcomer Foxcent showed some ability. After getting into a good position early on from which to challenge, he came under pressure two furlongs out and could really only keep on at one pace. He should improve and might just appreciate an extra furlong and better ground.
Tobar Na Hinfe kept on well from mid-division to be closest at the finish, ahead of Ucantoo, who broke well before dropping back early in the straight. He did keep on without being dangerous and now qualifies for a handicap mark.
Dane River broke slowly before making progress to be on the heels of the leaders before the turn into the straight. He unfortunately stumbled, though, breaking a leg in the straight, and having to be destroyed. [JOH]
