Once again Ruby Walsh appeared to steal a march on his rivals by steering EARTH PLANET down the wide outside on what must have been the better ground ashe came readily clear up the straight with his rivals toiling in his wake. Essentially he wants faster conditions but the fitting of a first-time tongue-tie helped his cause and he is likely to run again shortly but the handicapper is not going to be tookind after this romp.
Von Galen was put in his place by the winner and connections consider he needs decent ground so racing on the inside for much of the race did not help his cause. However, he is sure to win a race of this nature at some time.
Cashel Blue had fallen at the first on his last start but he completed here and did enough to suggest there might be a little heat to come from him.
