Possol chased leader, led 4th, ridden when not fluent and headed last, kept on

Naseby Covert led, jumped slowly 3rd, headed 4th, hit and lost 2nd 9th, weakening when hit 11th, no chance when blundered 2 out and last

Supreme Leisure not jump well, soon well behind, tailed off

Only four runners and not a particularly strong gallop, but an above-average event for the track though only two had a realistic chance.

OSLOT, a useful hurdler, had won both his previous starts over fences and he maintained that unbeaten run despite not being entirely fluent. He tracked the leaders until produced to challenge three out, and, after leading at the last, just got the better of his main rival.

He came into the race off a mark of 137, and was giving 3lb and a narrow beating to Jewson third Possol, who is rated 134. In the main, the second jumped the better of the pair. However, his only real mistake came at the final fence, and this just handed the advantage to the winner who ran on to score by half a length. Both the first andsecond are the sorts who should do well in the better handicap chases next season.

Supreme Leisure was never going.
