The Wooden Spoon made all, quickened 7th, hit 2 out, jumped left last, stayed on, unchallenged
Mr Barnacle held up in rear, not fluent, headway to chase leaders 7th, went handy 2nd next, ridden after 9th, stayed on same pace from 2 out, no real impression
Mey Clouds went prominent 4th, took handy 3rd 9th, well outpaced when hit next
The Babe Magnet took keen hold, tracked leaders, blundered 4th, outpaced 9th, took remote 4th 2 out
Silver Feather chased leaders, shaken up 3rd, hard driven and outpaced 9th
Ajay in rear, driven 6th, headway to chase leaders 8th, soon outpaced in modest 4th, weakened 2 out
Bluebell Flyer in rear-division, headway 8th, weakened next
Jupsala took keen hold, tracked leaders, jumped left, lost place 9th
Hapeney in rear, behind from 9th
Anty Wren in rear, driven along 5th, soon lost touch, tailed off when pulled up after 7th
The Wooden Spoon, fresh from a win at Newton Abbot, had a penalty to cope with here, but he did so with plenty of dash, making all the running and staying on stoutly. He looks to be going the right way.
Mr Barnacle, stepping up in trip, moved up behind the leader towards the end of the back straight. Soon being niggled along, he was on the stretch from three out and, looking green and raw under pressure and on this patchy ground, he was never able to get to grips with the winner.
