CINNAMON HILL, who had just three runs as a three-year-old, all over 7f, is a keen sort and was dropping in trip for this handicap debut. She took a hold under restraint early but, despite still being a little green, she found plenty when asked in the straight to hold off the runner-up. She will be kept to this trip now and keeping her calm will be an important factor in how she progresses.
Linda Green is a tough mare but is on a long losing run since as a result of which she has slipped to 10lb below her last winning mark. She had not run on thistrack since October 2006 but handles it well and this was a clear sign of a revival. She would have preferred a stronger early pace and, given that next time, is capable of winning.
Forever Changes, like the winner making her handicap debut after three starts, has been progressing with racing and this was not a bad effort having set the early pace. Penrice Castle was held up off the pace but took a keen hold in the early stages and her effort flattened out in the final furlong. Her trainer thought she was in need of the outing and she should be capable of better with this behind her. (AR)
