Kate The Great held up in touch, ridden well over 1f out, strong run to lead on post
Raggle Taggle with leaders, ridden to lead well over 1f out, kept on well until headed on post
Dr Wintringham hung right throughout, with leader for 1f, lost place and raced awkwardly bend just over 2f out, rallied and switched left just inside final furlong, stayed on, not pace to reach leaders
Amosite with leaders on inner, led narrowly just over 2f out, headed well over 1f out, hung right final furlong, faded last 50yds
Alphabeth led until just over 2f out, weakening when slightly hampered 1f out
Maybe Blue soon outpaced, tailed off from halfway
KATE THE GREAT got up to catch Raggle Taggle on the line. Kate The Great is out of a mare who won over 7f and 1m as a three-year-old but is clearly much sharper than her dam and, after being held up having been drawn on the outside, responded to strong pressure to get there on the post. Her trainer does well with similar sorts and, open to some improvement, she should be able to win again provided this hard race does not set her back.
Raggle Taggle is a small sprinting type and knew her job. She looked sure to score when going on turning in, lost little in being caught on the post, and should not be long in getting off the mark.
Amosite is a tall filly who is related to juvenile winners and showed good pace from her inside draw before fading late on. She looks the sort for nurseries later in the season while Alphabeth improved on her debut but was fading when short of room in the final furlong. (AR)
