Emshabb slowly into stride, held up in last pair, headway over 3f out, chased leading pair and wide bend 2f out, ran on under pressure to lead inside final furlong
Beautiful Lady chased leader, ridden well over 2f out, challenged well over 1f out, kept on under pressure
Dream Sea led at steady gallop, ridden and quickened 2f out, headed inside final furlong, kept on same pace
Ever Rigg slowly into stride, held up in last, effort and ridden well over 2f out, stayed on final furlong, not pace to threaten leaders
Princess Raya slowly into stride, in touch, ridden just over 2f out, outpaced over 1f out, kept on same pace
Code Violation in touch, ridden just over 2f out, outpaced well over 1f out, no danger after
Queen Macha tracked leaders on inner, ridden just over 2f out, soon outpaced, weakened over 1f out
The pace was dictated by Dream Sea who did not settle in front and, when challengedby the favourite EMSHABB in the straight, she could not respond. The winner has been improving and was unlucky over course and distance last time. Held up early, she made her move down the outside on the run to the straight and, despite coming wide, found plenty to score with a little in hand. She looked pretty fit and the pound overweight Ryan Moore put up made no difference.
The other newcomer Ever Rigg, an expensive daughter of a Moyglare and Lowther Stakes winner, was held up right at the back before staying on steadily in the straight. She has a long way to go to justify her purchase price but has a fair bit of size about her and should benefit from the outing. (AR)
