Prince Of Thebes chased leader to 3f out, soon lost place and struggling

Very Wise tracked leading pair to 3f out, soon weakened and behind
JAMBORETTA benefited not only from a winter's break but also a drop in trip and was ridden with confidence, settled at the back and produced into the final two furlongsto run her rivals down wide out midtrack. She edged up the handicap in defeat last year and will go up again. She still looks the sort to make her mark in some of the mares' and fillies' features this season, possibly the Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot.
Humble Opinion, who looked well for this first run in 634 days, showed why he remains in training. He had to wait for a run behind Ace Of Hearts halfway up the straight but picked up well when switched.
Bahar Shumaal has been tried over plenty of distances without signposting his trip. He set a good gallop and kept on well over what looks a minimum for him. His winning form has been around 1m2f and he has a reasonable turf mark on this display.
Cape Hawk had it to do off his higher mark in betterclass and was found wanting. He was hampered as Very Wise bumped him over two furlongs out but failed to pick up and his rider accepted the situation into the final furlong.
Very Wise, who looked well, has plenty to prove after another lacklustrerun, curling up into the final two furlongs.
Prince Of Thebes looked in need of this seasonal reappearance and ran accordingly, weakening out of it in the final two furlongs after travelling with the pace. [BJ]
