Dar Re Mi made all, pushed along and drew right away final 2f
Icon Project progress from midfield to track leading pair halfway, went 2nd over 3f out, kept on but no chance with winner final 2f
Albarouche ran green in midfield, effort over 2f out, disputed 3rd from well over 1f out, kept on but no threat
Sovereign´s Honour settled midfield, shaken up over 2f out, eased out and stayed on from over 1f out to press for 3rd near finish
Star Of Gibraltar took keen hold, held up behind leaders, effort to dispute 3rd 2f out, shaken up and stayed on
Piano Sonata prominent, disputed 3rd from 2f out but no chance, kept on
Testimonial dwelt, held up in last, some progress from over 2f out but never on terms with leaders
Seedless ran green in rear, last and shaken up well over 2f out, plugged on
Massiuta always towards rear, shaken up and no progress over 2f out
Requia mostly chased winner to over 3f out, weakened rapidly
Keen Eye slowly into stride, always in last pair, no chance over 2f out
Little was fancied to beat DAR RE MI, but it would be hard not to have been impressed, and her runaway win put her right into the Epsom reckoning, with Blue Square offering just 8-1, at which price she is favourite in their list, and the Tote's stand-out 16-1 predictably not lasting long. Dar Re Mi, who had the best of the limited form on offer and comes from an excellent family (her dam won the Vermeille and is a terrific winner producer), was sent into the lead from the start but did not begin to stretch her rivals until into the straight. It looked for a moment or two as if Icon Project might give her a race, but she soon dealt with her and came right away in the last two furlongs, pushed out almost to the line. She heads to York next for the Musidora, and much more will be known about her then. She will need to improve significantly to win there, let alone in the Oaks itself, but she is undeniably highly promising.
There was a blanket finish for third, with Derby second Dragon Dancer's sister Albarouche just getting the better of Sovereign's Honour, who was staying on steadily up the outer and looks sure to do better, the nicely backed Star Of Gibraltar, who had been keen and is worth another chance, and Piano Sonata, who had soon been up there and had her chance.
Testimonial lost her chance at the start and ought to do better over further with this experience under her belt.
Seedless, from the family of Sesame and Celeric, was too inexperienced to do herself justice.
