This claiming hurdle more or less went with official figures as the first two home were best in. PEPPORONI PETE was taking a huge drop in class and, though he took his time to win, he was well on top at the end. Basically he is not good enough for handicaps on his current rating but there are more of these in him.
Prime Contender had won one of these last time so the form in the context ofthis lowly heat is pretty solid and he is likely to be placed to regain the winning thread as he will not always come up against a horse as good as the winner.
Beechwood, returning from a break, had his chance in the home turn before dropping away and he really wants the ground very much on the quick side.
