Analyis of the race
This was quite a competitive 0-110 novices handicap hurdle in which less than four lengths covered the first five home.
GUNS AND BUTTER has been running consistently without winning both in bumpers and over hurdles, but he got off the mark on his handicap debut, travelling well up with the pace, leading two out and keeping on well after the last. Although he looks a chaser in the making, he'll have another run or two over hurdles in the early summer.
Winter Star has been running quite consistently recently, and he was arguably unlucky here, for he was coming through to challenge when he was hampered going to the last, and again after it. Once switched he ran on well but just failed.
Beau Largesse ran a sound race in fifth. These five were clear of the others who were headed by Well Disguised, who raced keenly early on.
