Royal Rationale held up, steady headway approaching 4 out, disputed lead from 3 out until led soon after 2 out, quickened clear last, easily
Raise The Heights chased leaders, challenged from 4 out and disputed lead from 3 out until soon after next and outpaced by winner, soon no chance but kept on well for clear 2nd
Travelling Fox chased leaders, ridden and effort 4 out, stayed on same pace from 3 out and took 3rd close home but no chance with leading duo
Smokincanon in rear, headway approaching 4 out, ridden, hung left and no progress from 2 out
Smart Tom in rear, headway 4 out, kept on from 3 out but never in contention
Jamesdoubleyou pressed leader 2nd, led next, headed after 4 out, weakened after 3 out
Immense in rear and never in contention
Keyneema chased leaders to 4 out
Midnight Spirit behind from halfway
Seahorse Point chased leaders to 4th
Danger Zone chased leaders, challenged from 4 out, slight lead 3 out, headed and mistake next, soon weakened
Lethal Gun took keen hold, led, ran wide bend after 1st, kept slight advantage to 3rd, weakened quickly 4 out, tailed off
Miss Librate jumped badly, prominent to 4th, soon weakened, tailed off
Raise The Heights proved no match for the favourite in the end but ran a decent race, confirming his earlier superiority over Danger Zone. He is now eligible for handicaps.
Smart Tom, having only his second run since winning a Haydock bumper in December 2006, was staying on at the end and might need further. He dead-heated for fourth with Smokincanon, who was returning from a long absence.
