LADY MYFANWY had won five races between the flags this year, the latest less than a week ago, plus a Bangor hunter chase. Her chances did not look great facing up to the final line of fences, as she came under pressure from her promising young jockey, but she stayed on willingly to take advantage when the leader made a mistake at the last. She should win plenty more races.
Minsgill Mans, winner of a recent men's open, ran a very solid race and stayed on strongly to get up for second near the line. An even stiffer test of stamina would appear to suit him.
Tokpela, successful in all four of his point-to-points this year, was never far from the pace and looked a big threat to Chesnut Annie in the straight, only to sprawl badly at the third from home, which cost him his chance.
Bob Bites Back did best of his trainer's four runners, running respectably back in fifth.
