Chabrimal Minster took keen hold early, tracked leaders, hit 13th, chased leader 14th, challenged 3 out, led next, driven clear last
Cousin Nicky chased leaders, led approaching 8th, ridden 4 out, headed and hit 2 out, weakened run-in but held on for 2nd
Mr Fluffy led, headed approaching 8th, hit 10th, lost place 13th, plenty to do 3 out, staying on when blundered last, kept on run-in and closing on 2nd near finish but no chance with winner
He´s The Biz in rear, ridden and no progress 14th, still plenty to do 3 out, stayed on from 2 out and kept on run-in to close for 2nd but no chance with winner
Sha Bihan took keen hold early, blundered 6th, chased leader to 14th, weakened 4 out
Redemption blundered 3rd, hit 12th and 13th, brief effort soon after, soon weakened
Freeline Fury chasing leaders when blundered 4th, saddle slipped and pulled up
Cerium towards rear, weakened quickly and pulled up after 7th
Casalani hit 5th, rear, tailed off 11th, pulled up before 4 out
CHABRIMAL MINSTER was never far from the pace and showed ahead after the third-last before putting his abundant stamina to good use and forging clear on the run-in. He is likely to struggle off his current mark in handicaps but he retains his enthusiasm and has been well placed to land both a hunter chase and now a claimer here this spring.
Cousin Nicky had won in this grade at Taunton two starts back but was well held in a handicap next time. After going on with a circuit to go he could not withstand the winner's challenge, an error two from home sealing his fate, and he was all out to hold second in the end.
Mr Fluffy looked likely to finish well back but rallied when the race was all over despite belting the last. He remains below par.
Sha Bihan looked sure to play a part in the finish turning for home only to weaken tamely from the final ditch. He continues out of sorts and was also well beaten in his one previous outing in blinkers.
Casalani, who was always behind here, had won a similar race at Uttoxeter butpaid heavily with the handicapper who put her up no less than 21lb. The Paul Nicholls-trained Saintsaire had flopped in that Uttoxeter race, and the champion trainer held the key to this event with the smart Cerium, who had plenty in hand at the weights. He ran much as he had at Sandown on his last start though, dropping away with a circuit to run and pulling up, and is obviously not capable of running close to his BHA mark of 146 at present.
